Today I’m releasing the first demo of the game, which includes first two acts and two bossfights. I’m not sure whether development will continue, but since I have something to share, I decided to post it anyway.
How to launch game? To do so, just unpack the build archive and run either bin/hrtp-release.exe or just runme.bat. If you want to remap the joystick buttons to keys and use it — you can use launch from the console with the —use-virtual-keyboard option. It will give you handy virtual keyboard on the account entry screen
For now, only two resolutions are supported — 800×600 and 1280×720, but there will be others in the future.
All problems and bugs can be sent to https://github.com/hrtp-demake-a/hrtp-demake-issues/issues, or by mail to exilium.discipuli@yandex.ru. Please, write more details in case of bugs, otherwise I’ll unlikely guess what is the problem.
If the game is very hard for you, the game has a console bound on Tilde button. Yhere you can execute the commands increment_life([amount from 1 to 100]); to add lives and increment_bomb([amount from 1 to 100]) to add bombs.
I haven’t tested it extensively, so there may be problems. I apologize in advance.
The game is not picky with a processor and videocard, but they should be at least sufficient. You must hae at least 1 or 2GB of RAM to play the game. But the TDM-GCC build has been launched under very old Windows XP computer and worked fine there.
Builds:
- Windows, GCC 12.2.0 Quite an easy build, does not require prerequisites, slightly slower than MSVC 2017. VirusTotal data: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/37656e31981ec171d018188186d378be8797f8909e6bf05cea055cbc009388a3?nocache=1, the only strange antivirus reports false positive
- Windows, Microsoft Visual Studio 2017. May require MSVC Redistributable, but may be a little faster than the build above. VirusTotal data: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/58940abb09e81252e2505b327c79f7f4a6df2f028335c1442542755cfaf99148?nocache=1, similar to above.
- Windows TDM-GCC 10.3.0. The only build that is guaranteed to work under Windows XP, and, accordingly, it should be used to run on this platform. VirusTotal data: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/fecf1c8d7643aa296f755a7cd89dbc374b7b46361f9f1a09223366c0e96d9431?nocache=1 . Here, many small antiviruses report it as malware, but this all are false positives — none of the main ones find anything, perhaps these are some kind of weird similar signatures.
